I got this to improve my cell phone signal in the basement where I typically get 1-2 bars and have frequent call drops. I put the extender in the top of the basement window and put the small antenna next to my basement work area. Now I'm getting 3-5 bars and 3G, so no complaints here.
I'm still waiting for my refund because I returned this item more than a week ago because it doesnot do what it is advertised to do. So Amazon and Sewell where is my refund I know you have received the item according to my UPS information what's going onDavid F. Gibson
I have Sprint and we have been struggling for 7 months until I get this unit. The wire and antenna were dropped out and sneaked back into my first floor window where I usually use the cell phones. My unit is functioning properly upon receipt. Upstairs would not be as bad, but downstairs greatly benefit from this unit.
I stuck the window unit from the window upstairs. I was a little apprehended reading all the bad reviews but was determined to follow the good advices and it does work as designed. It will go to 2 measly bars when I stay close to the black antenna and calls will not be dropped. there, it works and I did it myself and it's cheap. All windows can still be closed shut as the wire is very thin and can extend up to 20 feet.
That's all I can ask for compared to constantly dropped calls and no reception before. If the light blinked red and won't quit, just unplug and plug it back in to reset. We do not like all the wires which must be camouflaged or painted or something. I was planning on getting the expensive whole house unit, but after the husband complained about "I making more work for him installing the unit", I got this small thing and did it myself. This would create the required 10 ft bettween the base and the antenna.
Reception is great in our area for both Sprint and ATT except for my house. Hah. I did not expect much and therefore I am pretty pleased with this unit.
You must know what phone service they have to know if it will work for you
My home office is in the basement, and I have of course had problems with cell phone reception. My Verizon and T-Mobile cell phones were essentially unuseable in my office. My AT&T phone was better, but only 1 to 2 bars, which would fade to none on and off. Very frustrating when expecting an important call.Since installing the booster I am consistently seeing 4 to 5 bars.Very easy to install and activate.I love it.
